Previous consultation
Consultation on dealing with real rubbish has focussed on the issues that were considered important when looking at different technologies.
The most recent consultation carried out during summer 2008 included two phases looking at issues the council needs to consider when evaluating different solutions. Phase one involved asking a representative sample of Gloucestershire residents and selected stakeholders with an interest in waste to complete a questionnaire. A more in-depth phase two of the consultation involved 21 workshops with various interest groups.
Responses from the consultation have been used to help influence the framework criteria, which will be used to assess the potential solutions that come forward from the private sector. In November 2008, the evaluation framework was approved by Gloucestershire County Council's Cabinet.
