Pick up your free Recycle for Gloucestershire Calendar

Compost bin sale

Please note - the Calendar giveaway has now ended.

To encourage people to recycle even more in 2010, residents have the opportunity to pick up a free calendar – while stocks last – at the Farmer’s Market in Gloucester on Friday December 18th.

The calendar has recycling tips for each month, as well as lots of useful information including what items can be taken to your Household Recycling Centre, what to do with your junk mail, how to find a new home for an unwanted piece of furniture and how to make good use of your food leftovers.

Cabinet member for the Environment, Cllr Stan Waddington said: “I wish everyone in the County a happy new year and I hope in 2010 residents will try and recycle and compost even more of their waste.

“We hope this calendar will remind people how important it is to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfill. We need to recycle and compost at least 60% of waste by 2020, and we are on course to achieve that goal”

At the Farmers Market at The Cross in Gloucester on Friday December 18th, between 9am and 3pm, residents can not only pick up their free calendar, but speak to recycling and composting experts, who will be on hand to give help and advice. Various leaflets about reducing your waste will also be available to the public.

For those who can’t attend the event at the Farmer’s Market, from Monday December 21st the calendar will be available to order online (while stocks last) by logging on to www.recycleforgloucestershire.com
